Introducing Belleville Chiropractor Dr. James Enyart

My journey into chiropractic began in 1997.  I experienced an episode of back pain that was so excruciating I could not walk without the aid of crutches.  After a neurological consult, my family medical doctor referred me to a local chiropractor for the treatment of 3 herniated lumbar discs.  At first, I was extremely skeptical.  Reluctantly I made an appointment and I was simply amazed at the results I received through chiropractic care.  I decided that I wanted to help others as I was helped with chiropractic care.

Belleville Chiropractor, Dr. Jay Enyart, is seen here with his wife.My undergraduate education was completed at Southern Illinois University where I received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1997.  In addition, I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology from Logan College of Chiropractic.  Logan was where I completed my Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 2007.  I found my classes in Biochemistry to be especially challenging, but rewarding.  When I completed my Clinical Nutrition coursework, I greatly appreciated those same courses in Biochemistry to understand how Nutrition plays a pivotal role biochemically in the health and disease processes.

My wife and I were set up on a blind date eight years ago, and that date has never ended!  My wife is a teacher and serves as an inspiration and role model, not only to me, but to the community as well.  We are currently participating with the great folks of the American Cancer Society in their Relay For Life in Belleville in our spare time.  In addition, I enjoy giving health lectures to local community organizations and businesses.  Feel free to contact me if your business or organization needs a speaker!  We are also avid sports fans, and I can be seen at Scottrade Center cheering on the St. Louis Blues throughout the fall, winter, and spring!  In addition, we could not imagine life without our wonderful canine companion, Ava!

I receive chiropractic care at least once a month to keep my spine in great working condition.  In addition, my wife and I are members of the local YMCA where we can be found working out three to five days a week.  We strive to eat fruits and vegetables five to nine servings a day for health for many health reasons!  It has been found that an apple a day plus a veggie-intensive diet are the stars of new cancer prevention studies.  The findings were presented at the annual Frontiers in Cancer Prevention Research conference in Seattle.  A chemical in apples helped prevent colon cancer in laboratory and animal studies, reports lead researcher Francis Raul, PhD!  So, an apple a day can help keep cancer away!

Dr. Jay Asks some important questions of interest to Belleville residents - Chiropractor Belleville Dr. Jay Asks...

Can chiropractic relieve PMS?
If you have subluxations, especially in the lower spine that impair nerves that direct and monitor the reproductive and hormonal systems, chiropractic could be helpful. Undetected subluxations may also be responsible for pelvic pain, incontinence, sexual dysfunction and even infertility. Maybe chiropractic can help. Find out!
Which organs are extra?
You don't have any spare parts. Sure, we can survive without our tonsils, appendix, gall bladder and several other tissues, but each serves a purpose. We chiropractors recognize this. So the chiropractic approach I use in Belleville is to reduce nerve interferences to the control and regulation of every tissue, organ and system of your body.
